Artist Statement:
I think about storms, gender neutral royalty, spiritual set design, and concrete. I analyze touch/translucency, pray upon geology. Bedroom installations, sexual sorcery, revolution from the shackles of shame. My work is about survival, healing, thriving: decriminalizing, collaborating, challenging censorship, and investigating violence. Sovereignty.
I study power dynamics, pain/pleasure, consent/lackof, movement/bodies, control/fear, gender & lack of, identity & lack of, surveillance\performance, hypnosis/sound, martial arts/dance, the illusion of safety & “safe spaces”. Blurring into artful performance where there will be blood and spells and harps. Blessed by angels & moonlight & hand crafted wax sculptures that hold flames & fold time & melt sensually into submission.
Painting with mesh & printing with sun: the sound of wind on grass, lace, body. Designing light/lingerie/altars/, I’m dreaming of making sound baths, slut hymns, with other musicians & dancers & poets & protests. Overlapped prose, projection, distortion & sculpture made of invisible scripture. People that look like ghosts. Fabric, geography, resiliency. Turning our work into nature/nurture: fog in the sunrise of the creek, rope around soft flesh. Making vessels for the sanctuaries of goddexxes. Offerings of participatory theatricality.
